Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

More shrike images

I finally managed to get some better images of the Tiger Shrike, and it's truly a cute, adorable bird, after all it's still an immature as it's still very scaly.

It's a delight to capture its curious look as it spotted me.

I attempted to capture its back and rump too as these would be its 'tiger' stripes!

And I have also learnt to look out for an interesting feature in a shrike, i.e. its raptor-like bill which resembles that of a falcon.
