Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Greetings, Hornbill!

It has been days since I visited the taman and it was such a joy to walk in and be greeted by the screeching calls of the Oriental Pied Hornbill.  However for reasons unfathomable it decided to remain at the upper canopy, preening and scanning, and screeching from time to time.
In fact, I had to leave it alone as it continued its perch.  Nevertheless, it's always heartwarming to know that this bird still frequents the taman.
