This sub-adult Black-naped Oriole was seen grappling with this tiny larva for seconds before it managed to gulp it down. The larva might be terribly tiny compared to this much bigger winged one but certainly posed a little issue before it could be swallowed.
Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Not so instant after all for the Oriole
It's a common sight, birds going for leaf larvae. Unfortunately these birds are normally so high up or blocked that it's not easy to observe their fascinating behaviour handling these wrigglers.
This sub-adult Black-naped Oriole was seen grappling with this tiny larva for seconds before it managed to gulp it down. The larva might be terribly tiny compared to this much bigger winged one but certainly posed a little issue before it could be swallowed.
The Oriole continued to hit the larva as it turned this way and that before it finished it off.
