Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Healthy sunbird population

The sunbirds are probably the most ubiquitous birds in the taman, and this young moulting Brown-throated Sunbird was simply one of them, appearing to explore its surrounding.

So it's a pleasant record occasion to capture it in its changing plumage, already turning iridescent.

Yup, there was eye contact between us!
