Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

CMCO! O oriole!

Archive image

With the implementation of another Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for two weeks from 14-27 Oct, and all public parks closed, here's back to dipping into the digital stock for a re-appreciation of recent sightings.

And also lost opportunities to stake out the Common Kingfisher sighted flying along the river!  So there goes migrant visitor no 10/2020, only sighted.

The Black-naped Oriole is always a favourity subject for its striking colour, a challenge to get too because it's always alert to human proximity and its colour sometimes a defiance for focus.

This young oriole was picture perfect as it enjoyed its pick of the palm fruits, all alone.
