Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A cuckoo delight

Macaques are generally a nuisance in the bukit but this time I have to thank them, again, for flushing out this young Rusty-breasted Cuckoo.

Nevertheless it wasn't exactly an easy shoot as the bird stayed away from sight because of the continuous ruckus by the macaques.  A single determination to capture its images paid off when it reappeared.

And offered some opportune shots when it started to preen, except that this time I had to hand-hold my camera because of the bird's less than ideal perch, terribly exhausting indeed when I had to continuously hold my position in order not to miss out on any posturing, well worth it in the end!

Couldn't get enough, simply cute.

Moving even higher up, and finally away.
