Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Still no 'tiger' at the taman

I'm surprised that I've yet to sight the Tiger Shrike in the taman.  As I turned to the bukit for closer encounter with the visitor and more satisfactory images, expectedly I came across the shrike in the usual place.

Flew out unexpectedly and thought it could camouflage there.

As people walked past it decided to emerge but not for long as it went further up, and suddenly froze as a group of squabbling macaques appeared.  And unfortunately I had to move on, for safety reason, as the macaques swung down.
