Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

No trouble for a meal

Perhaps the young Plantain Squirrel didn't know what it was getting into, or perhaps the lure of its sighting was simply irresistible.

The eyes surely gave it away, it simply must get to what it had spotted.

And what a 'shower' it got itself into first!

Having got what it wanted it's time to scramble back up.

And what it got was ...

... a delectable piece of new leaf.

The diet of a plantain squirrel consists mainly of leaves and fruits after all, although it has been seen to go after birds' eggs and young chicks!
