Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another feeding frenzy

When grass seeds are there, a feeding frenzy begins.  It is amazing how these Scaly-breasted Munia perform fantastic feats, swinging and feeding at the same time as the grasses swayed in the morning sun.  As a result, the twirling and whirling allow for 360o view of the bird.
These birds may not be residents here, because they are not always seen, but they magically appear when the grasses are ready for feeding.
