Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another migrant visitor

It is great to know that more and more migratory birds could be making this taman a stop-over or transit.  This morning saw the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher made an early arrival here to escape winter up north.
Although small at about 13 cm, it does stand out with its bright yellow underpart.  It also has a distinct white eye brow.  This little fella could come as far as from Siberia and North-eastern China.
It really cannot be over-stressed that this taman is so essential as a transit or stop-over for migrant birds passing through urban areas.
