Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Like seeing an old friend again!

TRK is truly a birder's playground.  There is always a great chance that you can come across a bird that you have missed at one time.
I was terribly happy to come across this short-tailed Asian Paradise Flycatcher again after it was spotted by a birder's friend in the morning.  I had thought that it was on a stopover, but seeing it again in the afternoon on the very same day raised hope that it could stay in the taman for the duration of its migratory period.
Perhaps the abundance of insects in the taman could entice it to stay longer and I hope to see it in action sometime!

A gorgeous bird, rufous-coloured and slim.
