Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Starling's attempt

It was interesting to catch this juvy Asian Glossy Starling perching this way on the tree trunk, very unusual for a Starling.  Anyway, it was there for hardly a second, perhaps trying to imitate another it had seen!  And it did get me all excited, thinking it could be a less common feathered visitor, as it had been too long since this taman had seen one.
