Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Barbet, my day!

Just knowing that the Coppersmith Barbets are around simply makes my day!
It's one of those days when there was no urgent rush to take open shots, or better shots generally.  It's one of those days when hearing these birds call out, or seeing them foraging gives one a sense of contentment and delight, all's well, for the birds!
Especially when I could make out that there's a family out there, i.e. I could hear calls from close-by, and these birds responded, finally fleeing towards the persistent calls.
