Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Lone Surili

This is my first sighting of the White-thighed Surili in the taman, and a loner.  It was simply sitting there when I first spotted it but eventually left, not because it spotted me in turn but looked like it was seeking something.

As fast as it climbed up the tree, it did down and away it went.

This reminded me of the last time I came across a family of Surilis in the bukit, and it has always been a family the couple of times they were sighted.
