Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The Kite descends

Something has so enticed the Brahminy Kite that it flew down in our full view without the slightest concern for our presence.  It was a real treat to have this raptor down to eye level, almost as if in studio pose for us.

Unfortunately, that something must be elusive as the Kite didn't even attempt to go after it, merely seeking and waiting.  In fact, it flew even lower, right down to the halved tree trunk (to digress and it's not difficult to want to take a shot here, ie that these halved tree trunks stand in testimony to the pathetic attempt of the infamous developer at replanting after felling more than a few trees to turn part of the park into a parking area).

Now and then this bird was seen to look skyward as if scanning for its mate.

A truly gorgeous and magnificent bird.
