Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Cuckoo returns

I knew I would encounter the Indian Cuckoo again and I did.  A situation unwittingly created - I was getting increasingly dismayed for the lack of avian variety sighted and so started my wayward whistling and I think flushing it out!  And there it was - I was literally taken aback when a winged one sped out, and then it was a shot in the dark because I almost lost it over the wide field, something different from the glance of it.

Having deposited my shot, I tried to approach it but as usual being open has its bane.  However I managed to get a couple more shots before it flew back to where it came from.  So at last, the one I've been waiting for, even though it's only a sub-adult male!

Thus started a search for it, and found it keeping to upper canopy.

It would only oblige by coming down one branch lower.  Nevertheless, thanks for the sight, and hoping to catch it again!
