Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

And it perched

It could be heard regularly, it could be seen to circle about although mostly in the distance.  As with any raptor I always hope that it would descend to perch, for better views.  An it finally did.

It's a sub-adult Changeable Hawk-eagle (Nisaetus Limnaeetus), pale morph so could that be why it's still about this area and has not left for wider pasture?  A hawk-eagle normally resides in forest or forest edge, although is also known to inhabit plantations and enormous parks.
