Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

An iora seeks

Common Ioras (Aegithina thipia) are omnivores, feeding on insects like spiders, grasshoppers, caterpillars, moths, butterflies and also fruits like berries.

At the taman the ioras unfortunately were once too the target of poachers, being sought after for their melodious calls. I had personally come across one and had foolishly asked that guy what he was looking for and wanted to help!   But fortunately poaching has ceased considerably in the taman due to the vigilance of park goers who either reproached them directly or reported them.

It's not so preoccupied that it was not alert to its surrounding, as it spotted me!

Spending sometime at the same spot.

A beautiful bird from any angle!

And still seeking.

Affording another angle of its gorgeous colours.

Guessed it still felt like it was still being watched, a similar instinct we humans have when some one is watching us.

Aha, it finally found what it was looking for, or was it a mere substitute - an overripe fig, but it did fly off with its find.
