The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Bird gender

This Common Myna caught my eyes because it was more featherless around the eye compared to the other Mynas.

The more common features of the Common Myna.

I recall how a senior birder once said to me that birding is not just about chasing number of birds.  It's also about observing bird's behaviour.  I fully agreed with him, and added that it's also about the challenge of identifying the male and female of the species.  It's always a challenge, of especially common or garden birds like this Myna where their physical differences are hardly visible
Could its behaviour then reveal its gender?  If so, this strutting scowling Myna seemed to suggest its masculinity!
