Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

BK birds

I suppose it's not too hopeless to wish that some of the birds that I saw in Bukit Kiara could make their appearance in the taman.  Undoubtedly the foliage in the taman is different but then again, it shouldn't be impossible because the number of feeding trees here to my amateur eyes and knowledge, seem to outnumber those in the bukit, an attraction indeed.  Furthermore, there is no lack of insects and such for the insect feeding birds.
Anyway, for a start, it would be lovely to see the Black-thighed Falconet and the Chestnut-breasted Malkoha in the taman.  I have infrequently sighted the Falconet across the stream in the taman but not this species of Malkoha.  The Green-billed Malkoha seems to have claim its stake here instead.
So here are the pair of Falconets that I sighted in the bukit, and one of a pair too of the Malkohas.

It's interesting how this tiny bird prefers to perch right at the edge of this dry branch
