Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Picture perfect, almost

When I got to snap this Brahminy Kite in an almost ideal setting, given the harmony of colours, I almost felt overwhelmed as I also realised that this is the mate of the one that passed away in April (and it is now seen occasionally only in the taman).
It would be picture perfect of course if the bird was in a 'posting' perch but ah well, sometimes as someone once said, when given lemon, you make lemonade.  Nevertheless, to see the Kite preening from this angle is rather rare.
