Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The four-legged one

It looks like the Monitor Lizard still thrives in the taman.  This juvenile was seen today and it looked like it's still not wary of human presence as it did not try to dart off when it saw me.

I saw this Monitor Lizard in 2012.  It was seen to move regularly and freely along the thick bushes bordering the taman.

As more and more bushes were cleared, I had thought it too had disappeared until I started to spot it again but irregularly.  This shot was taken in 2016, of another one.
