Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The squirrel and the shrew

The Plantain Squirrel is indeed hyperactive, always seeking and collecting, nothing seems to be too much for it.  Unlike it, the Common Tree Shrew seems to move more leisurely here in the taman, mostly foraging on the ground.

The Shrew does climb trees but in the taman I have rarely seen one up the tree.  Squirrels are highly territorial and there are more Squirrels than Shrews here, which could explain their behaviours then.
