Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Mini wave

A mini wave of female and juvenile Brown-throated Sunbirds descended together on a tree and started to feed.  A closer look revealed the birds pulling out and feeding on worms found in between buds and leaves.  It was fascinating that the birds went on a feeding frenzy and it was all over in a couple of minutes, following which not a single bird was to be seen or heard.
And equally captivating were the acrobatic acts of the birds as they fed.

And then came the inevitable preening, and seen here is a juvenile male at its best!
