The firmiana malayana or mata lembu, remains here in testimony to man's care-less-ness - its tree had since been felled. Let not the birds leave too.

Fruits for the Starlings

A smaller group of Purple-backed Starling seen this afternoon, about 20 only I think, and they were still keeping to the upper canopy and in dense foliage trees.  However, it was more interesting this time as I saw them flying over the field to feed on the huge fruiting tree across their perch.  Then it was to and fro between the trees, between feeding and preening.
Now, it's hoping that some of these birds will perch lower for clearer images.  A few birds have been observed, breaking away from the group to perch together or even singly.

It's fruits this time.   This Starling also feeds on insects.
