Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A bird's tale
Sometimes birds are not known to make clever choices, especially when it comes to locating their nests. This Oriental Magpie Robin decided to make its nest in an open hole in a lamp post, in full view of all who frequent the taman. Fortunately there was a group of senior birders who discovered the nest and decided to keep watch over the nest. The chicks finally fledged although it was uncertain whether all did or a couple were poached.
