Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Size does not count

I was happy to see the Oriental Pied Hornbill again, and in fact stood watching it preen for a couple of minutes.  It is indeed a pretty little gal, distinguished from its male by the black shading towards the tip of its upper bill.
I turned around and it was gone.  But minutes later, I heard it shrieking across the park, chased by a Jungle Crow.  I guess size does not matter after all, being the bigger one yet it gave way to the Crow!
It must have strayed into the Crow's territory because the Crow returned smugly to its perch after its chase.

Smaller but obnoxious
