Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Makan makan

It must be something in the air - from the feasting Mynas, I saw next the Crested Goshawk feeding on what looked like a bird, at the other end of the taman.
It is indeed a rare treat when one catches a big bird feasting.  The last time I saw this was in 2015, the Brahminy Kite feasting on a chicken, and it wouldn't even share it with its mate!  And naturally, a crow was waiting close by!

The Kite with its prize - unfortunately one of them has since died (ref my posting of 3 April 2017)
