Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Hello again

When I saw this little fella again, the Collared Kingfisher, it got me all excited.  This is because the taman must have something special to have it keep coming back.  When I first saw it, a pair actually, a couple of months ago, I thought this pair was merely making a stopover.  But I am pretty convinced now it must have made a home here, somewhere.
It is a common kingfisher, especially in mangrove forest but not so inland.
