Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A Honey-buzzard visitor
This big one came a-visiting but only briefly. The Oriental Honey-buzzard was first spotted outside my house window, flying after a couple of Javan Mynas. Then it alighted briefly, flew off towards the taman, perched and was seen surveying its surroundings before it took off. Perhaps, perhaps it may just return.
