Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Domesticating the wild fowl?
When I came across these fowls, the unmistakable white patch and grey legs on each one suggested that of the male and rather cross-bred female Red Jungle Fowls. On closer look, the male seemed to have its feathers plucked out nearer its head, and it made me wonder if this could be a way to domesticate the wild ones. This is the real McCoy.
From a distance it's not easy to spot the plucked portion of the male fowl.
Only when I looked at the images did I realise what had happened to this male fowl.
