Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

One too big for the Kingfisher

Perhaps this White-throated Kingfisher did not know that one should not bite off more than one can chew, for it was seen to attempt terribly hard to hit the fish dead before it could swallow it.
It held on to its catch for a while before it started to hit it against the branch, looking around as if to ensure that there wasn't any bird close by to snatch its prize.

And then the hitting started in earnest ....

... until it noticed me watching it.

It did stop upon spotting me and then continued, and finally took off with the fish still intact.
