Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Budgie!

Another fantastic sighting for the taman today, a Budgerigar or Budgie, probably an escapee bird, a pet.  Nevertheless very exciting and as always proves how vital this park is whether as a stopover or a permanent abode.
The Budgerigar is also known as the common parakeet, and is a seed eating bird.  However, this one seemed to be going for insects as it was engaged in aerial acts.
Lighting was poor but nevertheless the stunning beauty of the bird stood out!

Who could resist these adorable looks and colours?
