Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

About Goshawk

It is pretty difficult to determine the male and female Crested Goshawk and I was pretty happy when I came across these descriptions which I found the clearest, extract from the Oriental Bird Club website:

"The female is larger (hard to appreciate unless side by side). The side of the head/face in males is grey, with black moustachial and throat stripes. The females have a browner head/face and brown underpart streaks and bars. The central stripe from chin to breast (mesial) in the male is thinner and longer. In the female this is thicker and “broken”. Similarly, the breast streaks and belly bands are more "broken" in females, better defined in males."

Nevertheless, it's still a learning process and I do hope I have got the following right.  So, going by the above description, both images below show the female perching on top.

More images of the female:

And of the male:

And then I believe that the following images are that of the sub-adults.

I felt very lucky too to have seen the Chick as well:
