Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Beautiful Barbet

I guess I have to contend with these images taken December 2017 which always remind me of how the Lineated Barbet would look like if I could see it up close whenever I hear it calling.  Despite its stocky size, it still remains one of my favourite birds with its glorious colours, especially the emerald green back feathers.
