Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

All about the immatures

It is so heartening to always come across a healthy generation of immature birds in the taman.  This bodes well for the taman as it strives to maintain its reputation of being a choice location for birdwatching.  I have always looked forward to encountering any immature bird and a good number of the following were all sighted on a single day.

black-naped oriole
pink-necked green pigeon

brown-throated sunbird
eurasian tree sparrow

crested goshawk
oriental magpie robin

coppersmith barbet
asian glossy starling

lineated barbet
