Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Has the Kite returned?

When I started to spot this Brahminy Kite, the first thing that crossed my mind was whether it was new to the taman.  It was broad daylight and it was bold enough to fly low over the pond to hunt when the taman was hardly quiet with workers busy in the area.  Then it cut a forlorn figure when it came to perch.

The next day it was again a lone figure close to the old nest.

Could there be a possibility that this one may be seeking to nest, reuse the old one?

And the next day I encountered it again as it flew in and kept up its call.

When there was no response, it began to preen.  After all it had been a wet morning.
Well, here's hoping that I will go on seeing it and eventually learn what it's up to.
