It's always a joy to come across this little fella, the Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker but a challenge as usual due to its size and flitting, and the foliage does not help.
It's truly a wonder of nature when one views this male bird's stunning bright red upperparts. This one is a common resident, in fact one of a pair in this taman.
Its striking back contrasts distinctly with its blackish face and generally whitish underparts. One is simply challenged to go on photographing it in hope of one better shot after another. However one looks at it, it's a pretty bird.
