Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A Drongo-cuckoo arrival

I could have missed the arrival of the Crow-billed Drongo-cuckoo last year and noticed it only in Jan this year.  However, it looked like there's an early arrival this time of the year in this one, as did the other migrant birds arriving early this year.
It was also strange that when I sighted this bird last year, it was also in the same area of the taman - a repeat visitor?!

And then off it flew and the next second it was way up high a bare tree.
