Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Rare Flycatcher visitors

It was an exciting two days, first sighting the white morph Asian Paradise Flycatcher (male), then the brown morph or Amur Paradise Flycatcher, at this point it's not really possible to say whether it's male or female.
As these birds are considered scarce winter visitors and mainly as passage migrants, the chances that they will stay around are not great.
On hearing the calls of the Flycatchers, and seeing them flying fervently about did make my adrenaline flow, and further sighting of white flashes set me on a chase frenzy trying to get shots, which unfortunately were almost impossible because the birds were sallying all over the place, up and down, and yet hardly perching.
Nevertheless I only managed a distant shot, for record purpose.

And then, arriving at the scene, the next day, minutes later meant another missed opportunity for close-ups.  This one stayed longer, continuously sallying for insects, and even snatching in mid-air right before us, and on target, with a thud sound when it got its insect, much to our delight, what a sight and experience!
And with the bird now keeping to the upper canopy and far back, meant that I could only afford the following images, again just for record purpose.
And so here's fervently hoping that the birds will stay on for a while longer for better photo opportunity!
