Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Starlings arrival

Such a thrill to welcome another new arrival, the Purple-backed Starlings, again in my personal record, earlier than last year, although there was only a small flock about 20, even then such a delight to watch as these birds swing and sway over the taman.  However this will only be a record shot as these birds kept to the upper canopy as they swirl and whirl as a flock from tree to tree, truly uplifting to watch!  So looking forward to seeing hundreds of them swirling over the taman, as they did last year.
