Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Increasingly seen uncommon flycatcher

Just when I thought the sighting of the Amur Paradise Flycatcher was rare, I was proved wrong because these birds, yes, more than one, have been sighted again and again in the Bukit Kiara area.  These birds may just stay on here, so here's hoping that they will also make it every now and then to the taman.

The following sightings were on a couple of occasions and in different locations, and if these birds stay on long enough, it would be possible to determine if they are male or female.  At this point, it looks like they could either be female or first winter male.
