Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another sunbird

Another day and another sunbird.  This part of the taman is indeed a favourite playground for the Plain-throated Sunbird, this time it's the male that was calling out incessantly.

The bill may not move but its shrill call definitely came from its puffed-out throat.

It certainly didn't look happy when it suddenly discovered that it was being observed.

Undeterred by my presence it continued to call out and guess what its call attracted?

The Crested Goshawk, and of course, off fled the tiny sunbird.
