Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Long live the Myna

Since then when I chanced upon this Common Myna with its dual grab I have been on the look-out for its young, simply because I have not really seen a juvy Myna before.

And just as I was wondering, a couple of days later, when I'll sight the young these two flew right into sight.

It looked like this immature was still being fed by the way it called out to the adult.

Unfortunately no feeding was seen.

Instead it looked like the adult was teaching its young to flex.

Then it was left alone as both parents flew off.
The Myna may be bereft of bright colours, nevertheless it does deserve a second look, especially against a serene background.
