Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

It's amore!

Taking much liberty for I can't put it any better ... When the colours hit your eyes, it's amore!

The taman has been too quiet lately for the dearth of avian life, so the Red Jungle Fowl (Gallus gallus)  has emerged to strut about but at the slightest whiff of human approach, it ran as if for dear life.  (And I'm only too happy for it as it's a target of poachers.)

Certainly not as striking when it was foraging earlier in the shade, fallen palm fruits being a favourite with these jungle fowls.
