Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Dove loses its self-consciousness

The pod of the yam-like plant must contain layerings of seeds and it was easy picking off the topmost layer.

The Spotted Dove smoothly dug them out in succession.

And then it suddenly realised it was being watched and it tried to hide behind the huge leaf.

But the lure of the fruit was simple irresistible and it moved for the seeds again.

But this time reaching for the seeds looked more challenging.
Guessed it must  have exhausted the upper layer by now.

It had to bury its face into the pod as it tried to reach further in.

Another self-conscious moment.

But it looked like the end of the feast for it as it puffed up and eventually left, failing to reach for more.

And then flew in this smaller fellow, the Yellow-vented Bulbul dipping in effortlessly and repeatedly for its portion.
