Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another Cuckoo visitor

Another visitor to the taman, a Malaysian Hawk-Cuckoo just flew in from across the river.  This will be considered as a record shot only for its blurry image, unfortunately due to the poor morning light and my inopportune position.  I truly truly hope it'll stay around for me to get better images next time.
This is a pretty large bird at about 30 cm and seems to favour dense forest areas with a flowing stream.  It goes mainly for small insects like caterpillars, beetles, small butterflies and cicadas, also known to feed on fruits and berries.
