Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The sleek Lizard

While waiting for the target bird, guess who would come around but one of the oldest residents, the Monitor Lizard.  It came or rather allowed the stream water to carry it along from upstream, then slithered up the bank.  Bulky as it might look, it climbed effortlessly and smoothly out of the water, and in seconds had disappeared into its hole.  It looked like the hind legs were the powerful ones, making wide strides.
