Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Four species of Flycatcher so far

It has been only a month or so since I spotted the first migratory Flycatcher to the taman.  And now I'm reminded to recall the different species spotted to date.

Asian Brown Flycatcher - looks like it may stay the entire duration of migratory period here.

Another Asian Brown Flycatcher although the colouration is slightly different.

Also, first winter Asian Brown Flycatcher.

Short-tailed Asian Paradise Flycatcher - not seen since the first sighting.

Dark-sided Flycatcher - this one is spotted only once.

Brown-streaked Flycatcher - an unexpected but delightful find.

And the first winter AFC is truly small, amazing how it can fly to seek refuge here from winter back home.
