Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

This Barbet and its whiskers
When I looked at the Lineated Barbet, not only am I captivated by its striking colours and yellow orbital eye skin, but also its wiry whiskers and upper bill hair, or could one term it moustache?!
Even when its beak is full with fruit, the 'bristles' are stood out.
For laughs, I couldn't help noticing that it looked drugged after eating the fig.
But of course not! It actually flew off in response to another's call.
